Towards Building Wholesome Livelihood through Entrepreneurship ( CDTA 9016BHU Project ) :
Training for production, diversification and marketing of dairy products at RNR Center, Samteling gewog under Sarpang Dzongkhag.
The training through Project TA-BHU 9016 ‘Decentralized Coordination and Partnership for Gender Equality’, funded by the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction (JFPR 9155) through the ADB in collaboration with NCWC & READ Bhutan was organized by BAOWE with technical assistance by way of hands on training by the National Dairy Research Centre (NDRC), Yusipang. The beneficiaries were the Dairy Farmers of Tama, Tshalajong, Buli, Trong, Ponchula and Panbang Gewogs under Zhemgang Dzongkhag .
The objective was to build up on their existing capabilities by providing training and networking opportunities, enhancing their income through familiar activities that had in the past been limited to their small communities. Taking their produce namely yogurt, butter, paneer and cottage cheese to the market has encouraged them to plan for scaling up in the near future.
